Quick start — your first 5 minutes
A short path from a fresh install to a useful dashboard.
- Walk through onboarding. Swipe (or tap
NEXT) through the intro pages, then choose Continue with Google, sign up with email, or tap Continue as Guest to stay fully offline. - Set up your profile. Enter your name, gender and date of birth so the dashboard greeting and insights are personalised.
- Pick your currency. Go to Settings → App Preferences → Currency and search for your country.
- Log your first expense. Tap the + at the centre of the bottom bar, type the amount on the keypad, pick a category, then press Add.
- Set one budget. Open Plans → Budgets → ADD A BUDGET, choose the categories to cap and set a monthly limit.
- Turn on your safety net. In Settings → Security & Privacy, enable App Lock and set a 4-digit PIN.
- Protect your history. In Data Management, enable Auto Backup and (if signed in) Cloud Sync.
The app is offline-first. Everything works without an account — signing in only adds cloud sync, cross-device restore and the ability to earn or redeem Pro passes.
Splash & Onboarding
The very first screen. It introduces the app, asks what you want from it, then walks you into your account and profile.
What this screen does
On launch you see a short branded splash (“Elegance in Every Transaction”) while the app prepares your data — it reports Preparing your dashboard, Syncing your transactions and Securing your data. Then the onboarding pager walks you through four intro pages before handing you to sign-in and profile setup.
The intro pages are: Track Expenses Easily, Secure & Private, Visual Analytics and Premium by Design, Private by Nature. They carry small stat cards (Secure Logging, Encrypted Mode, Growth Index, Accuracy, 100% Offline First, Full Control) that set expectations about how the app handles your money data.
What's on the screen
| Element | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Page indicator | Dots showing how far through the intro you are | Watch it, or swipe left/right to move |
| SKIP | Jumps past the remaining intro pages | Tap it on any intro page to reach sign-in faster |
| PREV / NEXT | Moves one intro page at a time | Tap NEXT on the last page to reach the account page |
| Illustrations | Animated artwork per page (expense card, vault, charts, benefits) | Informational only |
| Account page | Google sign-in, email sign-up and Guest entry | Choose one — see Sign In / Sign Up |
| “Let's get started!” page | Collects FULL NAME, GENDER and date of birth | Fill the fields, then tap Get Started |
| Privacy info (ⓘ) | Explains the profile data is used only for personalisation | Tap the info icon to read it |
| Welcome-back page | Returning users skip straight to a greeting instead of the intro | Nothing to do — tap Continue to enter the app |
How to use it
- Let the splash finish — it disappears as soon as your data is loaded.
- Swipe through (or tap NEXT) to learn the four pillars of the app.
- On the account page pick Continue with Google, an email method, or Continue as Guest.
- Fill in Full Name, Gender and Date of Birth, then tap Get Started.
- You land on Home. On later launches the splash and App Lock appear instead, and you go straight in.
Guests can use the app fully offline. Signing in later is non-destructive — your existing local data becomes the first thing the cloud sync uploads.
Sign In / Sign Up
Create an account or sign in. This is what unlocks cloud sync, cross-device restore and Pro membership.
What this screen does
Offers three ways in — Google, email/password, or staying as a guest — and enforces the legal agreement and email verification that come with an account. The screen also handles password resets and the inbox-verification loop.
What's on the screen
| Element | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Continue with Google recommended | Signs you in with a Google account on the device | Tap it and pick an account. If none exist, follow the “Add Account” prompt |
| Email Address | Your login email | Type it; an invalid address is rejected inline |
| Password | Login password, with a strength checklist | Type at least 8 characters with 1 number and 1 special character |
| Show / hide password | Reveals what you typed | Tap the eye icon |
| Forgot password | Sends a reset link to your email | Tap it, then check your inbox (and spam) |
| Sign Up / Sign In | Submits the form and creates or opens the account | Tap after filling the fields |
| “Already have an account?” / “Don't have an account?” | Switches between the sign-up and sign-in forms | Tap the link beneath the button |
| Terms & Privacy checkbox | Mandatory consent before an account is created | Tick it, then continue. It links to the Terms and Privacy pages |
| Continue as Guest | Enters the app without an account | Tap it to skip straight to the dashboard |
| Email verification sheet | Tracks the verification link, shows its expiry countdown | Open your inbox, click the link, then tap Check Verification Status. Use Resend Verification Email if it expired |
How to use it
- Pick a method: Continue with Google for the fastest route, email/password for a standalone account, or Continue as Guest to stay offline.
- If signing up with email, meet the password rules listed under the field and tick the Terms checkbox.
- A verification email is sent. Open it and click the link, then return and press Check Verification Status.
- You can keep using the app while unverified, but some account features wait for verification.
- Requests are rate-limited — if you resend too often you'll see a “too many attempts” message.
- If the previous link is still valid, the app tells you to check your inbox first and expires-and-resends only when needed.
- Cloned or parallel-space installs can break Google sign-in; use the original install.
App Lock (PIN)
The lock screen you meet each time you open the app once App Lock is enabled.
What this screen does
Guards your financial data behind a 4-digit PIN, optionally backed by your device's fingerprint or face unlock. The same screen is used to create a PIN the first time and to unlock afterwards, and it doubles as the recovery flow if you forget the PIN.
What's on the screen
| Element | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| “Welcome Back” header | Unlock mode — asks for the PIN you already set | Enter your 4 digits |
| “Create a 4-digit PIN” | Setup mode, first entry | Type 4 digits; the app then asks you to confirm them |
| “Confirm your PIN” | Setup mode, second entry | Repeat the same 4 digits. If they differ you start again |
| Numeric keypad | Digits 0–9 plus delete | Tap digits; use the backspace key to correct |
| Biometric prompt | Fingerprint / face unlock shortcut | Tap the biometric icon, or just present your finger/face |
| Scrambled keypad | Shuffles the digit layout to defeat shoulder-surfing | Enable it in Security & Privacy; the keypad simply appears shuffled |
| FORGOT | Starts recovery | Tap it, pick the security question you saved, type the answer, then set a new PIN |
| Lockout countdown | Appears after repeated wrong PINs | Wait for the timer to reach zero, then try again |
How to use it
- Turn App Lock on in Settings → Security & Privacy.
- Choose a security question from the list and save an answer you will remember — this is your only self-service way back in.
- Enter a 4-digit PIN, then confirm it.
- From then on the app asks for the PIN (or your biometric) when you open it, following whatever Auto Lock Duration you chose.
Your PIN is hashed and stored on the device; there is no server copy. If you forget both the PIN and the answer to your recovery question, the only route back in is reinstalling the app — which clears local data. Keep a JSON backup from Data Management if you want a safety net.

On tablets and landscape phones the bottom bar becomes a side navigation rail — the same four destinations, plus the centre add button docked in the bar.
Detected Transactions
Bank, UPI and wallet messages the app parsed on-device, waiting for your confirmation before they become real transactions.
What this screen does
When SMS detection is on, incoming financial messages are read locally and turned into suggestion cards here. Nothing is added to your ledger automatically — each card waits for you to review it in the transaction editor and press Add. Non-financial messages (OTP, promo, no amount) never appear.
What's on the screen
| Element | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Search box | Searches by merchant, sender or message text | Type any fragment to narrow the list |
| Filter chips | All, Income, Expense | Tap a chip to show only that kind of detection |
| Detection card | Shows the amount, credited/debited verb, sender, the original SMS text and a suggested category | Tap it to open Add Transaction pre-filled; edit if needed, then press Add |
| Swipe on a card | Deletes a single detection | Swipe left/right, then use Undo in the snackbar if it was a mistake |
| Long-press / selection mode | Multi-select detections for bulk work | Long-press one card, then use Select all, Deselect all or Delete selected |
| Edit sheet | Quick edit of Amount, Note and Category before adding | Open a card's edit action, adjust, tap Add |
| Clear All Pending | Removes every outstanding detection | Use when you've already logged those spends another way |
| Day grouping | Groups cards under Today / Yesterday / dates | Informational |
| Empty states | “No detected transactions yet” / “Nothing here” for a filtered view | Clears the search or filter to see everything again |
How to use it
- Tap the bell on Home, or open a “Transaction Detected” notification.
- Skim the cards and tap the ones that are real spends you haven't logged.
- In the editor, fix the amount, category, payment method or note if the parse was off.
- Press Add. The card leaves the inbox and the transaction joins your ledger.
- Swipe away anything that isn't a real transaction.
Detection uses RECEIVE_SMS only — no READ_SMS, no
SEND_SMS. Messages are parsed on-device and SMS bodies are never uploaded. Deny
the permission and the whole feature simply stays off.
Add / Edit Transaction
The heart of the app. One screen records, edits and deletes every income and expense entry.
What this screen does
It opens in one of two modes: Add for a new entry, and Edit when you tap an existing transaction (the title changes to “Edit Transaction” and a delete action appears). The same screen also carries the amount keypad, voice input, the itemized calculator hand-off, tags, funds, and the recurring/EMI planner.

| Payment Method | How the money moved (cash, card, wallet…) | Tap Payment Type and choose one |

| Date / Time | When the transaction happened | Tap either field and use the wheel picker |

| Frequency | Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly | With Regular, pick how often it repeats (Yearly is Pro) |

- Adjust the Date/Time if you are logging something from earlier.
- Optionally switch on Recurring Transaction to automate it.
- Tap Add (or Update when editing).
- Free: 3 recurring rules, limited voice parses, favorites limited.
- Rules 4–6: unlock by watching a rewarded ad.
- Pro: unlimited recurring rules, yearly frequency, unlimited voice parsing, unlimited favorites.

Itemized Calculator
Split one payment into line items, total them, and carry the result back to your transaction note.
What this screen does
It is a calculator in two modes. Opened from Home it behaves as a normal calculator
(mode NORMAL). Opened from the transaction editor it becomes an
itemized breakdown (mode ITEMIZED) where each line item has a
description and an amount. It keeps a history of past calculations you can copy from.
What's on the screen

|---|---|---|
| Expression display | Shows the running expression and result | Read-only |
| AC | Clears the current calculation | Tap to start over |

| Add New Item | Opens the item form | Enter a Description (e.g. “Coffee House”) and an Amount, then Add Item |
| Apply to Note | Sends the total and the itemized note back to the transaction | Tap it — you return to Add Transaction pre-filled |
| History 📋 | Past calculations, newest first | Tap the history icon to open it |
| History quick actions | Copy Expression, Copy Result, Copy Expression + Result, Delete Entry | Long-press a history card to open the action sheet |
| Clear History | Wipes saved calculations | Tap it and confirm — this cannot be undone |
How to use it
- From the transaction editor, tap the calculator icon.
- Add each line item with a description and amount.
- Check the TOTAL AMOUNT.
- Tap Apply to Note — the amount and the itemized note land in the transaction form.
- Finish the transaction and press Add.
Opened from Home instead? You get the same keypad without the line-item panel — handy for quick maths, and every calculation is saved to History for reuse.
Analytics

Funds
Cash buckets you set aside for one purpose — a holiday, a car repair, a wedding — so their spend never muddies the rest of your money.
What this screen does
A fund tracks three numbers: Allocated (what you put in), Spent (what you drew from it) and Remaining (what's left). When you record an expense you can pick a fund, and that spend comes off the bucket instead of being mixed into your general money.
What's on the screen
| Element | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Overview summary | Totals across all funds: Allocated, Spent, Remaining | Read-only |
| Info ⓘ “What are funds” | Explains the concept with a vacation example | Tap the info icon to read it |
| Fund card | Name, icon, colour, progress (“X of Y spent”), remaining, status | Status is Active, Exhausted or Archived |
| Create Fund | Adds a new bucket | Tap + → fill name, amount, icon, colour, note and start date |
| Edit / Archive / Unarchive / Delete | Manage a fund's lifecycle | Open the fund's menu. Deleting keeps its transactions — they just stop being linked |
| Fund breakdown | Spending breakdown with the fund's linked transactions | Open a fund → Spending breakdown / Transactions |
| Empty state | “No funds yet…” prompt | Tap through to create your first fund |
How to use it
- Open Budget → Funds tab → create a fund (for example, “Vacation”).
- Set how much you are putting in and a start date.
- When you add an expense that belongs to that fund, set its Fund field to it in Add Transaction.
- Come back here to see Remaining fall as you spend.
- Archive the fund when the trip is over to keep the list tidy.
Calendar
See your money laid out over time — which days were heavy, which were light.
What this screen does

What's on the screen

How to use it

- Switch to Year for a bird's-eye view of the year's activity.

App Preferences
Currency, number and date formats, your billing cycle start day, language, theme and font.

Custom fonts are a Pro feature. Free users get one custom font with a rewarded-ad option; Pro has a higher limit and no ads.
Security & Privacy
Locks, biometrics, screenshots and your account password.
What this screen does
Lets you decide how hard it is for someone holding your phone to read your finances: when the app locks, whether your fingerprint works, whether the PIN layout is scrambled, and whether the app can be screenshotted or shown in the recents switcher.
What's on the screen
| Setting | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| App Lock | Requires a PIN when the app opens | Turn it on → choose a security question → set and confirm a 4-digit PIN |

| Scrambled Keypad | Shuffles the PIN digits | Turn on to make the PIN harder to observe |
| Blur In Recents | Hides app content in the task switcher | Turn on to blank the preview thumbnail |
| Block Screenshots | Prevents screen capture of the app | Turn on to disable screenshots and screen recording |
| Change Password | Updates your account password | Enter current password, new password twice, then Change Password |
| Privacy Options | Consent and data choices | Open it to review or change consent |
How to use it
- Open Settings → Security & Privacy.

- Enter and confirm a 4-digit PIN.
- Optionally enable Biometric, Scrambled Keypad, Blur In Recents and Block Screenshots.
- Set Auto Lock Duration to suit how (and where) you use the app.
The PIN and recovery answer are the only ways in. Write the recovery answer down somewhere safe — it is not stored in the cloud and cannot be recovered by support.
Card Customisation
Decide exactly what each transaction card shows, and how the list around it is grouped.
What this screen does

|---|---|---|
| Preview | A sample card that updates as you toggle | Read-only |
| Show Category Icon | Displays the category's icon on the card | Each transaction card |

Manage Categories
The catalogue of income categories, expense categories and payment methods behind every transaction.

|---|---|---|
| Counts header | “n Income Categories · n Expense Categories · n Payment Methods” | Read-only summary |
| Search 🔍 | Finds a category by name | Tap and type |

How to use it
- Open Settings → Manage Categories.
- Use search to find an existing item quickly, or sort to review the list logically.
- Tap a row to change its colour.
- Tap + to add your own category or payment method.
Add Category
Create a custom income category, expense category or payment method.
What this screen does
A short form: choose what kind of item you are creating, name it, give it an icon and optionally a colour. It also guards against duplicate names within the same kind.

|---|---|---|
| Category Type | Income Category, Expense Category or Payment Type | Tap the chip for the kind you want |

- Pick the Category Type.
- Type a unique name.
- Search the icon grid and pick the icon that fits.
- Optionally choose a colour, then tap Add Category.
Manage Tags
Extra labels layered on top of categories — perfect for cross-cutting things like a trip or a project.
What this screen does
A tag is an extra label on a transaction besides its category. Food and flights can stay
different categories yet both carry the tag #vacation. This screen creates,
renames, merges and deletes them, and shows how many transactions each one is on.
What's on the screen
| Element | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Tag list | Each tag with its colour and transaction count | Tap a row to act on it |
| Search 🔍 | Finds tags by name | Tap and type |

| Rename | Changes a tag's name everywhere it is used | Open the tag → Rename → type the new name |
| Merge | Folds several tags into one | Select tags → Merge → choose the tag to keep |
| Delete | Removes tags | Select tags → delete. They come off every transaction, but the transactions stay |
| Selection mode | Bulk operations on many tags | Use Select all / Deselect all, then the action |
| Info ⓘ “What are tags” | Explains tags with a vacation example | Tap to read it |
How to use it
- Create tags in Settings → Manage Tags, then apply them when you add a transaction.
- To tidy up duplicates, select the tags and use Merge.
- Rename when a tag's meaning narrows or widens.
- Search a tag on Transactions, or see the Tags breakdown in Analytics.
Payment tags and advanced tag tooling are part of the Pro bundle; free users get the core create/apply/search workflow.
Notifications
Every reminder and alert the app can send, each with its own switch.

What's on the screen
| Action | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|

| Legacy Import | Brings data across from older app versions | Tap Migrate and select the old file |
| Transaction Count | Total records in your database | Read-only |
| Delete All Data & Reset App | Clears everything on this device | Tap Delete All and confirm. A guest has no cloud account to delete |

How to use it
- Open Settings → Data Management.
- Turn on Auto Backup and choose a frequency (e.g. every 3 days).
- Before any big change, tap Export Data (JSON) and keep the file somewhere off-device.
- To move to a new phone, install the app and use Import Data (JSON).
- Restore Database overwrites everything — it never merges.
- Delete All Data removes transactions, budgets, funds, goals, categories, tags, backups and settings from this device. There is no undo.
- Delete Account additionally removes your cloud data and stops other devices using that account. Always export first.
Cloud Sync & Devices
Keep the same data on every phone, and see which devices are linked.
What this screen does
Syncs your transactions and settings across devices in real time, records when the last successful sync happened, and lists every device attached to your account so you can unlink one you no longer use.

|---|---|---|
| Upgrade card (free tier) | Shown instead of the controls while you are on the free plan | Tap Upgrade to Pro to enable sync |

- Sign in, then open Settings → Cloud Sync & Devices.
- Turn on Cloud Sync.
- Install the app on your second device and sign in with the same account.
- If something looks stale, tap Sync Now.
- Remove old phones with Unlink.
Sync is a Pro feature and covers up to four devices. Without it the app still works perfectly — it is simply local to the phone.
Refer a Friend
Share your code and earn free Pro days — and give your friend some too.
What this screen does

- Got a code from someone else? Enter it under Have a Friend's Code?
- You cannot use your own code, and you can only redeem one referral code ever.

The plan picker. Three durations, one clear list of what you get.
What this screen does

What's on the screen
| Element | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Plan selector | 1 month, 6 months, 12 months — with % OFF, Save <amount> and a BEST VALUE badge where they apply | Tap a plan to select it; the benefit list updates |
| Price per month | Normalises each plan to a monthly figure | Use it to compare durations fairly |

How to use it
- Open the paywall from any locked feature, or from Settings → My Membership.
- Compare the three durations (the monthly-equivalent price makes this easy).
- Select a plan and tap Subscribe.
- Complete the Google Play purchase sheet.
- Once confirmed you'll see the success sheet — tap Start using Pro.
You don't have to pay to sample Pro. Watch a rewarded ad from Settings for a temporary ad-free Pro pass (its length is set by the app's Remote Config, so the app never promises a fixed duration), redeem a Pro Pass code, or earn days through Refer a Friend.
Update Required
A gate that appears at launch when your installed build is too old to talk to the service safely.
What this screen does
Blocks the app until you update, protecting you from a version that would fail or behave unpredictably against the current backend.
What's on the screen
| Element | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Message | Explains a new version is available and must be installed | Read-only |
| Update Now | Opens the Play Store listing for the app | Tap it, then tap Update in the Play Store |
How to use it
- Tap Update Now.
- Install the update from the Play Store.
- Reopen the app — your data is untouched by the update.
System Maintenance
Shown when the service is temporarily offline for scheduled work.
What this screen does
Replaces the app while the backend is being maintained, so you get a clear explanation instead of failing requests.
What's on the screen
| Element | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Title and message | Explains that scheduled maintenance is in progress | Read-only |
| Come back later | No action button — the app re-checks automatically | Wait and reopen the app; local data is never affected |
Because the app is offline-first, maintenance only affects cloud features such as sync, sign-in and Pro redemption. Anything already on your device stays available.
